Over at Counter Culture in Bristol, they were worried that many alcohol-free drinks were “unfulfilling, unadventurous and needlessly high in sugar”. So, they decided to make something better.
Right from the start, the tangy notes of this drink let you know you’re in for a treat, and the drink fizzes with life as soon as it’s opened. Counter Culture say it’s an alternative to lemonade, but I think this drink goes much further than this. The zestiness of the ginger and lemongrass work in perfect harmony to produce a flavour which at once reminds me of a ginger beer, but also offers a genuine alternative to alcohol – one that isn’t simply a lemonade-style soft drink.
I love this drink and I noticed that it was the flavour that disappeared the quickest out of the fridge at our place!
The can is a zany work of art. It reminds me of the very wacky Rick and Morty tv show – something otherworldly, just like this kombucha!
